2017 UVA E-Cup Competition-Sepehr Zomorodi & Jisun Kim

Congratulations goes to Sepehr Zomorodi (4th Year BME) and Jisun Kim (3rd Year BME), working jointly in the McConnell lab and the Swami lab (CSE) who won second place in the launch round of the UVa Entrepreneurship Cup.  This follows an earlier first place selection in the concept round of the E-cup.  Their company, Synaptest, aims to provide personalized medicine for neurological diseases using patient-derived stem cells.

The E-Cup, is an annual competition that seeks to enrich the area’s entrepreneurial community by encouraging new ventures to address unmet needs, solve social and economic problems, and do so in an interdisciplinary way. The competition is open to UVA undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-doctoral fellows.
