“Public Days” is an initiative of President Sullivan in collaboration with OpenGrounds, the Vice President for Research, and the Office of the Provost. Its purpose is to make the scholarly and creative achievements of UVA students visible to the larger public. The Public Days showcase will highlight exemplary scholarship, research, and creative work of the University’s undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-docs.  Historically, “Public Day” occurred at the end of the semester, and was an opportunity for the general public to gather with the university community to hear essays read by students on topics of literature and science.  We re-launched this concept in 2014. This year’s events feature an expanded showcase on the Lawn; multiple events at local community partner sites in the weeks following the showcase; and a display at the UVA libraries from April 18 – 22. Projects will be archived on the Public Days website.

Your project on a signaling pathway that regulates cell cycle control of melanoma cellshas been selected to represent the highest achievements of scholarship, research, and creative work from undergraduate and graduate students across Grounds. To confirm your participation and submit the materials for your Public Days poster, please complete this form by 11:59pm on Wednesday, March 16. Congratulations, again. We look forward to working with you on this exciting event!
